Video of the week -- Rammstein -- Moskau
Europe's greatest band offers a dark serenade to Europe's greatest city. The female voice is singing in Russian, not German.
A sample, starting at 2:52:
Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst
Kогда ты ночью крепко спишь
Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst
Kогда ты предо мной лежишь
Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst
Kогда со мною говоришь
Ich sehe was, das siehst du nie!
Раз, два, три!
I see something that you don't see
When you go to sleep at night
I see something that you don't see
When you lie down before me
I see something that you don't see
When you speak to me
I see something, you'll never see it!
One, two, three!

You're not an atheist, you're a spiritual being having a fucked up human experience here.
Well, one out of three correct :-) (although it's not that fucked up).
"Moskau" is one of those rare songs with seemingly incongruent elements that mesh well together. Til's deep, ominous vocals and the female vocalist's cheery, high-pitched voice are worlds apart, but they work well together, like chocolate and peanut butter.
Rammstein knows their stuff. There's not a really first-rate video of the song available, unfortunately -- this is the best one I could find.
Thanx for the video Infodel ... I seen alot worse production on YouTube than that, guarantee you ... so that wasw pretty good, just my opinion. I have met a couple German band's and small chat, that have some notoriety ... one was KMFDM, the other was the Scorpions, bot are really kick ass too. Scorpions lead vocalist Klaus Mein (spelling?)is such a vocal powerhouse, and in person he is small, I'm not that tall myself at 5- 10/ 11 but he had to look up to me. KMFDM were very political, we spent some time with them on their tour bus after a show one night over drinx.
Rammstein's coming to the US next year -- the closest they'll be to me is Tacoma, but I'm definitely going.
Unheilig was supposed to come to the Philadelphia about two years ago, but circumstances beyond their control prevented it. To my knowledge, Unheilig won't be in the U.S. any time soon. A sad panda is me.
