Link roundup for 17 October 2009

Rap music goes multicultural, and pretty far out there (found via Mendip).

Zirgar reviews that Republican calendar.

Orly Taitz is still pestering the legal system about her Obama-birth-certificate delusions, and Judge Clay Land has pwned her again, to the tune of $20,000.

The mommy's-basement-dwelling knucle-dragger set have a new outlet for their violent fantasies.

The Pope is more likely to publicly worship Satan than to do this.

I bet this church makes witches nervous (found via Mendip).

The BEatitude has some interesting questions about Heaven (found via Bay of Fundie, whose post title suggests one more).

Middle of Nowhere has a couple of great photo posts -- the very large and the very small.

Teapot Atheist debunks the Mayan calendar bullshit. He doesn't think much of this defense of the world's largest child-molesters' organization, either.

Jon Stewart looks at conservative efforts to protect corporate rape from Commie socialist liberal interference.

Jack Jodell has an interesting posting on why Democrats in power are less effective than Republicans.

Judge John E. Jones III, whose 2005 Kitzmiller vs. Dover ruling struck down the creationists' intelligent-design scam, will be honored here in Portland today.

Oklahoma offers another illustration of the vicious cruelty of anti-abortion fanaticism.

Think racism is dead? Someone needs to tell Keith Bardwell. Dissenting Justice has more.

The new Republican party website is assessed by Jack Jodell, The Crossed Pond, and Wonkette.

British conservatives are unimpressed with Glenn Beck.

Reconstitution 2.0 has been on a roll this week, with posts on Soviet nostalgia, Keith Bardwell, a case study in how big money blocks real health reform, and why abusive health insurers are losing the war.

Republican Presidential hopefuls must meet a certain standard.

A member of the jury that convicted Cameron Willingham now thinks he may have been innocent -- too bad he's already been executed (sent by Ranch Chimp, who has more on executions in Texas).

Watch Iran on November 4th.

Here's a cool video of bullet impacts in slow motion (found via Mendip).

PZ Myers looks at a transitional fossil and modular evolution.

View pictures of the new Darwin Centre at the Natural Hstory Museum in London. (And pity this guy who has to work through "22,000 drawers full of beetles".)

Stem-cell science is making steady progress in growing new tissues to repair organs.

Good Morning Mr.Infidel!

Can see you been hard at work, tell's me that the hand is getting well also! :)

Cant say I was amazed ...but was entertaining to watch the "Klenginem" video from Mr.Mendip.Seem's that a couple folk's who responded to it on the site took the band and music "serious"(?).Didnt suprise me Mr.mendip would have this find...I have frequented his site many many times ...and must say that he cover's such a large variety of music and entertainment and some really good stuff at that!

Mountain Sage' ...Orly Taitz piece. Actually I didnt even know that she was to credit for the birth fantasy legend's ...Well! Congrat's to her as well...hope she think's her cost's were well worth her effort's.Even though she must feel to some extent that she was not only pissing in the wind...but setting herself up for a good ole fashioned cornhole adventure.

Sadly No' "Teh Awesome" ... what a story...I almost thought I was reading a modern American version of the Book of Revelations! But of coarse....I would not believe any of it. If it's not forecasted in the Mayan Calendar ... it simply cannot be! :)

And a big Congrat's to Judge JE Jones ... on his award and recognition ...he certainly deserve's it...for at least...doing his JOB and protecting children.I would only hope...that his judicial influence could educate some here in the Lone Star State (Texas) as well! We sure as Hell need it.

And Congrat's as well to the folk's of LondonTown on the new "Darwin Centre" extension to the "Natural History Museum"! I have visited this museum twice when I stayed in Soho/Westminster back in the latter 80's.It is one Hell of a museum! I spent almost an entire day there both time's it was so interesting.Great thing about it to(at least back then...might have changed by now)is there was no official price to visit this museum...or any mandatory fee for anything...they had "donation pot's" only...which I was more than happy to toss a few pound's in.

Steady Advance's in Tissue Engineering is a great reminder of what we are capable of achieving as long as we leave folk's do their bloody JOB's without interference. I also think we will accelerate much faster than we actually expect in finding's and advancement's...because one new finding...can lead to a few more finding's and so on...a chain reaction of sort toward's progressive science and engineering in human longevity.

Ya'll have a good un Guy! :)

What, they accused the band of not being real Klingons? :-)

Thankls for visiting.

Judge Jones, I should point out, is himself a Christian and a Republican -- which makes his ruling all the more impressive. He quite rightly did not allow his personal biases, if any, to influence his interpretation of the law.

Was the $20K fine enough? Maybe when Taitz becomes a real lawyer she will appreciate what just happened. I wonder if she is a mail order bride, just like her law degree? She is perfect reporter material for “Fake News”, where unfounded rumors and innuendo reign supreme , unlike a our US courts of law, where you need to present documented facts, not half baked lies (prepare for more failures). When flies get too close to the lights they get burned, Taitz just got burned, thing is, like a fly she will continue, no end in sight. Poor little Birthers they are haters not debaters.

A lawyer, dentist, realtor and black belt, wow I must say a JACK of all trades master of none.
