For reading blogs, I never bother with "feeds" or "readers" or any of that crap. I just go to the blog itself every so often and see if there's a new post up. All the other stuff is just over-complicated junk that doesn't work reliably, especially lately when Blogspot has been so glitchy.

Note: With the election now getting close, I will not be allowing comments which claim that the Republicans will or can steal the election in some way, nor linking to any posts or articles which support such claims. First, engaging with that kind of stuff is like arguing with flat-earthers, basically a waste of time. Second, such claims discourage voting and other political activity by making it seem pointless. Defeatism tends to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Good collection of links this morning.
- The only news feed I use is from the National Weather Service with a feed for hazardous weather our region (Taunton MA) and for any storms in the Atlantic basin, and that is the extent of it. I used to subscribe to assorted feeds, but it was just way to much to filter out the news from the shills for money.
- It saddens me to think that the AfD has gained momentum in Germany. Even in the rural portion, it's a horrific message to send. But it is hypocritical for us wring our hands over the AfD when we sat back and allowed MAGA and the Alt-right to dominate our country for the past 12 years. It feels like every election season, we have to say "THIS is the most IMPORTANT ELECTION of our Democracy!", but this mid-term IS. If we can finally turn this tide, perhaps there is hope for the rest of the planets political turmoil?
- I DETEST the use of "Emotional Support" animals. These had ONE purpose when the concept started; to provide military service members suffering from PTSD with something to help reduce the stress. THAT WAS IT. Now I see every... vainglorious moron parading around supermarkets with the filthy crap-generators on a leash or inside the shopping carts. I f-ing hate that!!! I am to the point of asking "So what branch of the military did you serve...?" I remember (sadly, fondly) watching some dolt with his collie mix parading through Home Depot (the dog crapped in the back of the outdoor lumber yard, and he left it), the the kicker was some twitbrain brought his "emotional support" pit bull into the same area... all I heard was ferocious barking, screaming and chaos. Nary a Home Depot manager around...
- Right there with you, if Google ever demands a photo, this blog will end and my accounts will close. But I DO have a "photo" on my profile. It's Ernst Blowfeld holding his cat, that iconic photo from "From Russia With Love". Hey, it's a photo. Can they prove it's NOT me?
- Infidel, one of my pet peeves is hearing that a parent is allowing their child (CHILD!) to determine what gender they want to represent. This... IMHO... should never be a topic to discuss with anyone NOT an adult, much less medically ACT on it (unless the child is born with some gender related deformity that requires medical correction). Yes, of course psychological surveys are showing these children are suffering from increased psychological problems! For crying out loud, just let the kid be a kid! Support them, hug them, love them... and save the sex-change talk for when they are young adults, and THEN guide them to whatever services will help them process this decision!

I don't know much about feeds for weather services, but in those cases it could well be worth doing. Some people rely on feeds to tell them when blogs they read have a new post, and they just aren't reliable enough for that. Blogspot's blogrolls that show the latest post are currently running up to two week's behind, and I think the feeds and readers run off the same data. There's no substitute for just going to the blog itself and seeing whether there's a new post.
The reason nativist parties like the AfD are gaining momentum in Europe is that the mainstream parties have allowed Muslim immigrants to flood in for decades, changing the character of those countries and causing huge spikes in violent crime (it's a quite different situation, in that way, from the immigrants in the US), and totally ignoring the growing anger of the voters about the situation. If they had been humble and obedient to the will of the voters, as politicians in a democracy should be, and stopped mass immigration and cracked down hard on the Muslims' bullshit, then this situation would never have arisen. As it is, since the mainstream parties will not obey the will of the people, the people are naturally giving their votes to those who will do so. I have been warning about this for over a decade. The mainstream parties had their chance. The nativist parties are the future now.
Many of the Muslims in Europe are violently hateful toward gays, Jews, and the equality of women. There is no reason for anybody on the left to be tolerant of their antics.
Interesting that "emotional support" animals started with military veterans with PTSD. That makes some sense. Nowadays everybody wants to take their emotional support boa constrictor on the plane with them or whatever. Animals in restaurants as if they were humans is just not right.
I don't know if Blogspot would care if I left. They're not making any money off of me. But some people have Adsense and Blogspot makes money from that, so maybe they'll make some effort to keep people happy.
When kids who manifest "gender dysphoria" are just left alone, they eventually grow out of it. Many boys who show early signs of what parents think is "effeminacy" grow up to be normal gay men. Butchering kids like that with these bizarre surgeries, so they can never be normal adults, is an atrocity for which I hope the responsible parties will someday be held fully accountable.
I know someone is going to scream about this but we should be fire bombing AI Data centers for the plague that they are. Burn it all down.

I don't use feeds or readers either. I have all the blogs I visit in a couple of folders on my task bar and just open them and visit. Easiest way I've found to go to all of them.
My dog does that sometimes when he's really sleepy. Especially at night right before bedtime and he wants me to come in the room so he can go to bed.
Emotional support animals have really ruined it for real service animals. I see so many emotional support dogs in the grocery stores now. Most being carried in purses. One of my friends just helped her daughter get permission to have her emotional support hamster at college in her dorm room.
I enjoyed the little movies as usual.

This emotional support animal thing seems to have just blown up in the last few years. There are always people trying to come up with some way to bend the rules.
