Truths and inspirations for 11 May 2026

How could anyone possibly imagine this was an improvement?
I don't understand why some people make such an issue of age differences. The longest and most successful relationship I've had was with a woman twelve years older than I was.
On the Civil Rights Act, in fact about two-thirds of the Democrats in each house of Congress voted for it, while about four-fifths of the Republicans did. In general this image is true, though.
"Turn the other cheek" and "resist not evil" are teachings for slaves. Satanism is a philosophy for free people.

"Turn the other cheek" reminds me of another saying I heard often in "liberal" St. Pete FL; "You just have to go along to get along". It got sickening, fast, when that was the mantra every time I asked why racism was so tolerated.
Good line-up.
The doctor vs member of congress is truly disheartening, isn't it? I had to laugh at the house flipper. My son's house that he sold 11 months ago went on the market again. The new owners had painted ALL of the cabinetry and woodwork a white/grey color. Same color on all the walls. Completely ruined the character of the home. It made me sad. It was a beautiful home.
Lots of really good ones this round. I loved the King Charles and Burger King one. Of course there were also some truly funny ones that I don't think were intended to be funny. ;)
Don't turn the other cheek, break the hand that struck you. I agree with this. I'm just not badass enough to carry it out. lol
Have a great week.
Since I'm retired, I plan a lot.
I don't DO a lot, mind you.
Except naps.
I like naps.
There are some good ones, but "If you're trying to redefine racism, maybe you're the racist."
Rade: It's amazing that people ever let themselves be persuaded that not standing up to evil was moral.
Ricko: Thanks.
Bijoux: Those congresscritters sure aren't just living off their salaries. Bribes can be pretty lucrative, although they prefer to use longer words for them.
I don't know what these people think they're doing to houses. The change in that picture makes it look like it's in a slum.
Darrell: I'm not a real fan of king Charles, but he must have had a hard time biting his tongue about all Trump's tacky crap.
Mary: Luckily these days it rarely involves physical violence. It's about standing up for yourself against abuse of whatever kind.
Al: Naps are always good.
Tombie: I think the truth of "if you're obsessed with talking about race, you're probably the racist" is self-evident. It's today's identity-politics crazies who have re-defined it to suit themselves, if anyone has.

No comments advocating violence against any specific identifiable individual, even jokingly.
Please be considerate -- no political or politics-tinged comments on non-political posts, and no performative cynicism.
