Link mini-round-up for Halloween
Some rather creepier images here.
There must, of course, be Halloween cats.
Lady M attended the Emma Crawford Coffin Race, and has pictures of the winners -- also more local skeletons and pumpkin sculptures, and even a pumpkin mini-village.
Professor Taboo invokes Shakespeare.
Highbury Cemetery has a few reflections.
Remember what it was like for kids in a more "innocent" time.
This band's style is perhaps suited to the season.
A tree serves as a Halloween advent calendar.
This town has all the pumpkins you could ever want.
For Americans, Halloween is a respite from the way things usually are. To some, it has deeper meanings.
Of course there are the usual killjoys, but who cares. Don't let them mess it up.
Every day is Halloween.
I posted on the origins of the holiday here.

I never thought a pumpkin could be naught but I, glad to say I was wrong!

Love, love, love this post, Infidel753! Happy Halloween and a blessed Samhain to you!
Ohhh Wow! ... cool collection. Halloween Greetings Sir Infidel! Bummer it fell on a thursday though. Some folks have been talking about making it official on saturdays (you know, for the weekend) ... but it breaks the tradition of the actual day, I guess. Today is also one of my son- in- law's birthday too, so some dinner and drinks for him tonight, I guess (made sure I reminded my daughter {:-) Halloween for City of Dallas (sponsored) was basically last saturday ... Dallas always holds its annual Halloween Block Party in the Oak Lawn district on the saturday before Halloween, if it don't fall on a saturday ... Oak Lawn is also the heart of Dallas' LGBT community, but all folks attend. This year, the City of Dallas added an additional attraction, the first annual Dia de los Muertos festival and parade at City Hall Plaza downtown. That was 4pm to about 11pm. That leaves time to attend the Oak Lawn Block Party, which goes on from late night till the wee hours of the morning. But there are also a variety of events going on across Dallas- Fort Worth over the next couple days, so this weekend will not be short of activity. Great to have clear skies for the children tonight, because the last 2 days was a continuous steady rain, temperatures have been 30 degrees below normal too, low 40s instead of low 70s for day time highs, and this morning we woke to our first freeze of the season. I'll leave ya with a link below of costume photos from some of the folks at the block party last saturday ... usually a good selection of costumes in Oak Lawn ... at least for an outdoor street party ... Later ....

Sweet post ! ! ! Didn't even have to wait to Sunday.
I love Halloween pictures. The creepier the better if you ask me. But cute can be good too. I hope you had a good Halloween.
Sixpence: There's no limit to the things some people will do with pumpkins.
Debra: Thanks!

Oh, the fundies are still out there all right, disapproving of things.
Martha, Anon: Thanks!
Mary: Halloween has a good mix of creepy and cute. For the really seriously creepy stuff, you'll have to read my religion posts.
