It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Imagine no religion -
It isn't hard to do.
Stalin was an atheist,
Mao and Pol Pot too.
Perform a Holodomor,
Murder six million men,
Take a Great Leap Forward,
Kill millions more again.
Imagine the Killing Fields,
a true boneyard of peace.
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm a true sane one,
For who thinks North Korea
is just a realm of fun?

Turner: Don't be ridiculous. The fact that some evil happens outside of religion doesn't change the fact that religion is evil. In any case, Communism is so much like a religion that it almost qualifies as one, so it's hardly surprising that it produces similarly murderous effects.
