This guy is right on! I don't recall a single Tea Party activist being arrested.
You know, I do think the OWS people are missing an opportunity to point out vocally to the police in their midst that THEIR police pensions are being gutted by the very people they are supposedly protecting. Ask the cops how the 401k plans that have replaced their defined pension plans are doing? They should be telling the cops "you're getting screwed too!".
Great Video...the powers that be are very afraid. This is their reaction to LIGHT! When you are from the dark side Corporatocracy is happy. Watch as the movement of #OWS takes hold and the people take back what rightfully belongs to them! cheers
That was very well said! I've been out of town (dropped in on Occupy DC while I was in the area, too), so I've got lots to catch up on here. Since you posted this, Oakland and Atlanta have gotten rough with their local #OWS occupiers.
I noticed in DC that the right wing disparagement of occupiers as "dirty hippies" is not too far from accurate, if they only look at the core group that holds the ground in McPherson Square...probably because The Rainbow Family knows how to occupy a public park and are willing to do so. The rest of The 99% need to show up more if we don't want to leave the core open to more rough treatment from the cities. We owe that core a debt for moving the conversation.
They are doing so in some places. At the Occupy Portland rally I went to, most people were didn't look at all like hippies (and were obviously not students, despite the MSM spin). The protester injured in the Oakland police attack turns out to be an Iraq war veteran.
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.
