Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

I'm thrilled but a little uneasy over what the net few months will bring.
We'll have to wait and see. But there's hope now.
I'm sure you have heard by now, but Mubarak recently gave his speech in which he was expected to step down but has decided to change his mind. He claims to be transferring some power to his VP (who really is no better) but will retain most of it. Here is a link to the story. The good news is the people are not taking this sitting down as the number of protesters is increasing, even better, they are remaining peaceful. The next question is what the military will do.
It's high time now the Algerians oust Boutefleka !!!
Yeah, its absolutely great but now the hard part begins. But you are right, there is hope and that is a good start.
I'm both relieved that Mubarak is out of power and curious as to what will come next.
Well, change of plans...again. After his little speech claiming that he would retain power, the military started putting pressure on Mubarak and now he has resigned and turned power over to the military who thus far has claimed to want to get a transition government established quickly so that they will not have to retain power for long. So that really didn't take long at all. Here is a link.
