Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Yes, because he's getting uppity and having his own opinions!
Can't have that, can we.....
Ouch!
I've never assumed all criticism aimed at Obama was motivated by racism, but I do know for a fact that the emails I've had forwarded to me showing watermelons on the WH lawn, showing Mr. Obama's head photoshopped onto a witchdoctor's body and the bookstore window in Florida with books about apes and monkey and in the center of the display a book about Obama were NOT generated by lefties.
I've never assumed all criticism aimed at Obama was motivated by racism,
I'm sure you haven't, but there are plenty of people who cry racism at every conservative criticism of Obama, even in cases (unlike what you're talking about) where race obviously has nothing to do with it.
Don't be ridiculous. If you can't see the racism in the right's rejection of Obama, you are just averting your eyes. There is no similarity there with the left's criticism, which is based on his betrayal of the people who worked to put him in the White House, in order to work with the very forces which have left the country in the state it is in today.
You're willfully evading the clear point I'm making. Of course some of the attacks on Obama from the right are rooted in racism -- no one can deny that. What I'm talking about is the way a lot of people on the left have cried racism at every conservative criticism of Obama, even in cases where racism plainly had nothing to do with it, in order to avoid having to address the substance of it. This has done tremendous harm to the left's ability to accurately understand the opposition and deal with it.
