I don't think everyone who voted for Trump is unreachable, but the hard-core Trumpanzees (see
post below) almost certainly are. The family-separation issue enables us to distinguish the two groups from each other; with those who can support
that, there's no point in trying to appeal to any shared humanity. All we can do is defeat them.

Very good point. Hardened Nazis are beyond hope.
A quick look around the Trump cultist blogs verifies the fact that they are unreachable and so morally corrupt to the point that these same people who wailed about zygots being aborted have no empathy for living, breathing children. I'm done with them.
So true. Some people are way beyond reach. Ice runs through their veins.
You can't argue with people who don't accept basic facts. When anything they don't like is "fake news," you can't have a reasonable discussion.
Yes, they'll twist anything, including their own moral concepts, to stay hunkered down on the hill they've chosen to die on. We can't reason with them, only defeat them at the ballot box.
To paraphrase a certain time traveler named Reese--these Trump supporters can't be bargained with, they can't be reasoned with--they don't feel pity or remorse or fear.
That's why we must absolutely not stop--ever--until they are defeated.
Marc: An apt comparison!
