About Me
- Name: Infidel753
- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Mars, bitches!
I wish it looked a little more like Wall-E.
SK: There's always some work of fiction that anticipates things like this (though I still haven't heard of any work of fiction that foresaw the internet before the fact).
Grundy: I wish it looked like one of those war machines in the film version of War of the Worlds. After all the shit the Martians have thrown at us throughout cinematic history, it would serve them right.
I was holding my breath going into the weekend…
Can’t imagine how sick with tension those people at Mission Control must have been.
When I read about the capabilities of Curiosity and the quantum advance it could mean in understanding Mars … It’s good to know that the human adventure is still alive. Can’t wait for the pics to roll through.
Magpie: Yes, the scary part is over -- now the work of getting results begins.
