Sometimes you gotta just stop and contemplate the real meaning of the crap these bastards are spouting. Found via Republic of Gilead. Original quote here.
It's a good bet Rmoney may choose Santorum as his veep to mollify the fundie base that thinks Mittens isn't Jesusey enough.
Gingrich is, of course, too unstable to be near any levers of power, but Santorum gives off enough of a veneer of sanity to please those who dwell in Jesusland and who aren't quite sure that Mittens is "one of them."
On the other hand, a Rmoney/Santorum ticket slogan could be "Billionaires for Jesus!"
I've been wondering if Romney might choose a VP from the Nutty faction to shore up his support with the base -- if so, Santorum would be an obvious choice. On the other hand, that's what McCain did and it didn't work out too well for him.
I'm really starting to loathe these people. When one starts thinking about what an effective ban on abortion would mean in practice -- it's sick, horrific, cruel stuff.
Individualist, transhumanist, American patriot, atheist, liberal, optimist, pragmatist, and regular guy -- it has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spiritual" concepts of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that it is technology rather than ideology or politics that has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.
