Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope you're okay. I'll send Rush over, he's got a pill for that.
so sorry!! Heal fast, or when you feel better just type with one finger instead of 2!! LOL
Yikes! What happened, Infidel? Hope this is not serious and you'll heal soon. Broken bones can be annoying (an understatement, I know).
CDM, I fear the unholy flabomination would rather purloin my own painkillers than donate his own!
Sue, that's actually what I'm doing. It's the right hand that's offline, unfortunately.
Elizabeh, it was a bike accident, inexperience + carelessness. Luckily I use a helmet or it would be much worse.
Thanks all.
You broke a bone in the "hand"? What part of the hand?(I take it...not a finger then?).Was this connected to that morning bike commute? Was it caused by someone 's driving? Most importantly...if it was connected to someone's driving...can you sue? or at least consider it. I know it wont repair the bone...but if someone's driving caused it(cause some folk's are really inconsiderate to biker's at time's) make the party pay up.No doubt you qualify for some script pain killer's ... hell with all that over the counter crap if it still hurt's...get the "good" stuff. Is it just a fracture or a straight break? If it was on your bike....my guess would be, you may have got tossed off the bike..and tried to land on your hand...heh? Well at least it wasnt from slugging some teabag in his skull, cause the sob might try to sue you!
Later Guy...............
Sorry to hear about it, Take care!
The long thin bone along the edge, between little finger and wrist. Just snapped in the middle.
No car -- most of my commute is on a bike-only path, not streets. Going at high speed, tip of right handlebar clipped fence alongside bike path, sent me flying. Easy to avoid in future -- just have to be more careful not to get so close to fence.
Got Vicodin prescrip. Effective but makes you feel spacey. Can't use at work.
I hear ya man .... shit happen's. Yeah Vicodin is popular these day's.But if you ever need something stronger...you know you could count on me! Dont even need a script! :)
Later Guy ..............
Was it your dominate hand that you broke?
Yep. Right-handed.
Are you taking time off work? (Would be a good opportunity, IMO. :)
As best I can. Unfortunately today was a critical process that couldn't be put off. I'm home now after 7 hours of left-handed keyboard work -- aaargh! But there won't be anything that critical again for a long time yet.
Bad luck about the hand, my immediate thought when I read the post was whether it was related to the cycling.
I've been typing with one hand ever since I got broadband and it hasn't done me any harm.
Wow! Sorry about the hand. I hope it heals quickly & your accident doesn't discourage you from bike riding.
