Independence Day

I don't have the energy to write anything which would be suited to the magnitude of the occasion, but here are my Independence Day posts from 2007, 2008, and 2009. As for the future, there's this.

Our neighborhood had alot of gunfire last night (around 4 am) from the Mexicano's who were up cooking and drinking .... DPD cruiser's started driving around flashing light's on folk's to pipe them down .... finally about 5:30/ 6:00 am ... it got quiet and folk's started going to bed I reckon! I was happy .... between the shooting and the shattering bass speaker's belting out repetitive riff's of Tejano and Salsa that could be heard within two block's ... I was ready for a break!

Nothing here but fireworks (as far as I could tell). I think Dallas needs to declare independence from noise pollution.

Actually .... it is a blessing Dallas is so spread out, because if it was laid out like your town PDX, being much more compact like the northeastrern seaboard cities, this town would be so damn noisy in the summer especially. Although having spent a week in your city PDX .... I absolutely love it! It has an atmosphere of it's own, unlike anywhere else in the nation I've been. Great town also for alternative rock music. But ... the atmosphere here in Dallas is quite a bit different.
