I think I drove by that Holy Land theme park in Orlando a lot... it was that castle building alongside I-4 to the east of Universal, if I'm placing it right. Yeah, I never went. I have no idea what anybody can do with those building now, there's already a Renaissance/Medieval Times park a couple blocks down the road.
There were a lot of evangelicals that had moved into that part of Florida for decades since the boom of the 1980s, so I'm surprised that park didn't do better. The concessions and amenities must have sucked.
Bummer - I never made it to the Holy Land experience and now never will. I was hoping to play some Trin it tee mini golf. How's Ken Hamm's huge ark? It must be teetering on the edge of oblivion. My theory is that Jesus is boring and when all your rock music and entertainment revolves around the "greatest" - ahem I mean "dullest" story ever told, it is bound to fail.
I've found a few beetles and such inside my apartment. I've even found a couple of spiders that I relocated back outside but I've never had a full on spider web.

Those rocks were gorgeous. I have a piece of opal that my grandpa gave me but it doesn't sparkle nearly as nicely as those rocks did.

Johnny: I'm not that familiar with Lenny Bruce, but I'm with anyone who challenges the limits others try to impose on free expression. I hope you're feeling better.
Paul, Lady M: The amenities and such may indeed have "sucked", but I suspect the boring nature of the theme was the real problem. Just as not even many fundies have actually read the entire Bible, probably not many had much real interest in a theme park dedicated to rehashing rather dull mythology which they already knew about anyway -- certainly not more than one visit. Those rising ticket prices couldn't have helped either.
Mary K: Since posting this round-up I ran cross the same picture on another site which said that that woman is a sculptor who specializes in prehistoric animals. If the thing in the photo is a sculpture, it certainly looks remarkably real.
Gemstones can be amazing. It's remarkable what natural crystallization can produce.
Anon: I'm well aware of who Vox Day is (see this earlier post). It's obvious to anyone that I was linking to that post as an illustration of the malignancy of the thinking displayed. I pretty routinely link to "enemy" sites for such purposes (for example, to a post on the Dâ'ish (ISIL) site boasting about restoring slavery in their territory) and will continue to do so.
