Now, that's a collection of links and as always I enjoyed them! You know people may not be swallowing spiders in their sleep BUT when I came inside yesterday afternoon after spending all day outside burning limbs that had I had pruned from the trees in my backyard, I sat on my bed and took off my bandana that I had around my forehead to keep the sweat out of my eyes and when I flipped it off along came a spider. One hitched a ride on top of my head. I was so delighted to see a spider crawl across my bed! I hate spiders! I was too tired to squeal like a little girl so I just squashed it. In the words of Trumplethinskin, "It is what it is!"

I no longer believe in a deity, but who would be worse, a Mennonite or a libertarian? Belief is not just religious.

Mildred: I'd certainly hate having a spider on me, but from what I hear, every human residence has many of them, just rarely seen. It's not all bad, though. They kill other bugs.

Sixpence: I guess it represents the invasiveness/disrespect of his words. Different people react to the creep in different ways.

Mary: Glad to hear the holiday spirit is indomitable.

Bruce: Depends on the Mennonite, and on the libertarian. Some ideologies can certainly be dogmatic and fanatical, but I contend that religion is especially dangerous because it claims divine origin, meaning it claims absolute certainty.

I do wonder what he was really doing. Maybe penguins have anarchic nonconformists just like humans do.
