Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Got a good morning laugh out of this {:-) Take it from me, with all my years in Texas ... the Protestant groups/ cults are the WORSE ... they make Catholics look Satanic. Actually, many of them call Catholics Satanic too, because of the ritual part, as well as the worship of Mother Mary, the Catholic Bible is slightly different than the King James version as well, but still the same crap. You are saturated in the south with folks like Seventh Day Adventists, Pentecostals, etc. I have been in their churches too, once I had to go to one (in Houston years ago), because this girl I was attracted to, suggested I go to her families church, I went stoned, and they felt me up speaking in tongues and stuff, it was a trip, freaked the shit outta me. Catholics at church gatherings serve booze too (usually beer and wine). The Christian fundi's don't just dislike gay shit, some believe that execution should be the law for gayz ... long story, but I know their types ... give me a catholic any day.
I went out to my buddies ranch in rural Texas (Steve, guitarist), sunday, for his annual Memorial Day "fish- fry" ... so I'll leave you with one, that a guy told me when I arrived. ... He said "Tom, got a question fer ya" ... I said "shoot" ... he said ... "How do you get a priest to f*ck a nun?" ... I said, "I don't know" ... he said "dress her up like an altar boy" {:-) I thought it was funny, this girl there said ... "That grossed me out, Bruce!" ... I guess she didn't get the humour.
The crowd's reaction to calling catholicism a cult was strange but by waiting like he did for a period made his point and made the audience think about themselves as well because there had to have been a bunch of mind-screwed catholics out there.
Ranch: I guess Maher knows the most about Catholicism because he was raised in it. The worst fundies are certainly loopier.
I've heard variants of that dressed-as-altar-boy joke for years -- obviously lots of people do get the humor.
One: Most of his audience probably knows what he thinks of religion. He was blunter than usual this time, though.

The scary thing is that many men actually think this way. Anyway I am laughing at how pathetically insecure this loser is. His basic message is that he refuses to date any woman over the age of 25, LOL.
I don't watch his show but I got to say he's kinda funny. President Hellboy. lol
I think one of his parents was Catholic, so that might be why.
