my stats show that you stop by ..wanted to personally thank you and let you know I appreciate it..used to live in Portland in mid to late 60's..one of my favorite places..still miss the Palm Gardens..ydg
Beautiful. Reminds me of the stuff Chuck Csuri was doing at OSU thirty years ago -- much slicker with today's tech, of course. But the treatment, in the story, of the baby penguin is a trifle cavalier -- feels like a trophy pet. That bit jars.
Frank: Thanks -- I'll have to look into Chuck Csuri (not familiar with the name). I wasn't really sure why the penguin was in the video at all, but maybe it has some significance to Ghidghid. It wouldn't be surprising if the Japanese attitude toward treatment of animals is somewhat different than ours.
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Jackie: Thanks! Yes, you're one of my regular reads.
Shaw: That's how I felt. It's a favorite of mine.
