Quote for the day -- the radicals

"I think the general election will be as sharp a contrast between the two parties as we've seen in a generation. You have a Republican Party, and a presumptive Republican nominee, that believes in drastically rolling back environmental regulations, that believes in drastically rolling back collective-bargaining rights, that believes in an approach to deficit reduction in which taxes are cut further for the wealthiest Americans, and spending cuts are entirely borne by things like education or basic research or care for the vulnerable. All this will be presumably written into their platform and reflected in their convention. I don't think that their nominee is going to be able to suddenly say, "Everything I've said for the last six months, I didn't mean." I'm assuming that he meant it. When you're running for president, people are paying attention to what you're saying."

President Obama

This post nicely fits in with the one I just put up, and both subjects need to be hammered and hammered and hammered again into people's consciousness during the election.

I don't believe this country could ever in good conscience vote for a return to the policies that brought on the catastrophic financial ruin. A catastrophy we are still recovering from.

I don't think the average American understands how horrific it was.

Mornin Infodell ... that's straight up. You know, the other day when I was browsing through your last link round up ... I was reading the post where you said something about Dem's, as long as they dont talk about gun right's or somethin similar (cant recall off hand) ... but I kind of laughed reading it ... cause I said to myself (and you know I am NRA, pro 2nd amend, etc) ... even "if" the Democrat's started ranting about more gun control, etc, etc ... I would STILL vote Democrat ... heh, heh, heh, heh, heh : ) ... frankly Guy, the way I see it ... regardless of what side you lean toward's ... you would have to be ill or something to even consider voting Republican ... and remind you that I am also conservative on some issue's.

Have a good un Infodell ....

Following up on Ranch Chimp's comment; I recall a LOT of outright lies in the campaign people saying Obama was going to take away our guns. No idea where they got that, but it was repeated over and over... it seemed to have more traction than the bullshit about Obama being Muslim.

Americans have a short memory, I believe the population has forgotten how deep a hole the Republicans dug our economy into, and they will blame Obama for not instantly recovering the economy. They thought that Obama was going to pull us out, now they will think Romney will do it since Obama didn't.

I have to keep reminding myself that the average IQ in America is 100.

@ Skeptic Robert: This is still true Robert, I hear it all the time hear in Texas, especially in small chat like at gun show's and stuff ... I never found one shred of evidence showing anything about Obama trying to take gun's ... as a matter of fact, Obama has been more pro- gun than even Bill Clinton, who asked to redeuce the size of your clip/ zine. But the bottom line here ... is even if they started talking about more regulation's on firearm's, I wouldnt care at all ... I alwayz had gun's since I was a kid in New York, and had more in Texas, never had a carry permit, or special liscensing, etc, etc ... nor do I have a gun fetish at all ... it's no big deal to me, in other word's as far as enforcing the regulation's or reducing clip/ zine capacity, etc, etc ... I've basically just alwayz got what I needed, if not from a store/ show ... on the street. So it's no biggie. The "talk- scare" though has been great for gun and ammo sale's though : )

In other word's ... the "gun talk" issue is more or less a "petty" social issue to me when it come's to voting.

SK: As people are now saying, the Republicans' case against Obama is basically "You aren't cleaning up our mess fast enough."

RC/RtS: In fact, Obama has loosened gun controls in several areas. The right wing doesn't seem to have noticed, but most of the left seems to have pretty much given up on gun control as a lost cause.

I won't be able to thank you fully for the articles on your web-site. I know you'd put a lot of time and energy into all of them and hope you know how much I appreciate it. I hope I could do the same for someone else sometime.
