About Me
- Name: Infidel753
- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Have already done so.
Clicked on it. Ready to sign. And...didn't. Because of the wording. I don't want to see cuts to Medicare or Medicaid, either--especially since my husband is covered by Medicare and I soon will be, too. But I can't say that I wouldn't donate or support Obama if he made changes...ever, because I don't know what situation he and we might face down the road. And I don't know what choices we might face in 2012. Obama vs. Bachmann? I'm sending money!
I changed my mind after some intense thought. I'm signing.
Glad to hear it, both. We need to support the Democrats on election day, given that the alternative will almost certainly be much worse (the Republicans seem determined to prove that) -- but in the meantime we also need to be putting pressure on them to do what they were elected to do. House Democrats are doing the same.
I just wanted to thank you for posting this petition Guy
Politics Plus has it posted too, and I hope a lot of other blogs follow suit. We've got to do something constructive to push the leadership in the right direction, not just threaten to vote for Nader next year.
