About Me
- Name: Infidel753
- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

For Neda!
Go!
I hope they all take to the streets, every man woman and child.
They can't arrest the whole country.

there's one good thing happening on Feb.11th, it's my daughters birthday. Happy Birthday Kimmy!
Just received in my in-box from the NY Times.

SJ: As I wrote at the time (here and here) the character of the protests at the end of December showed that the rebellion is escalating. My guess is that there are a lot of very angry people out there. We'll see tomorrow.
Sue: Happy birthday!
TNLib: Thanks for the link. Interesting that the theocracy apparently regards women's-rights activists as such a threat. But of course the people who have the least to lose are the most dangerous to the regime, and being a woman in Iran under the present system can't be much of a life.
