The world is full of fascinating things that have nothing to do with politics

Eye update -- hopefully final
I went back to the ophthalmologists yesterday. Two doctors examined me and concurred that the retina repair looks very good. The blurred vision in that eye is also almost completely cleared up.
I have a follow-up appointment in a month, but hopefully this is the end of this rather frightening and traumatic episode.
OK, this is different optic issues and nearly 6000 miles away but my Mum's recent eye surgery here in the England seems to be working out very well. So, whilst I wish you the best of luck I think you'll be fine because, well, that's progress.
As to sudden movements... Whilst Infidel's REM is an issue (and one I hadn't thought of) the sudden movements I'm most seriously worried about are to do with Mr Putin...
I dunno about REM sleep being hard to avoid but their last few records didn't exactly enliven me. And I rather liked them in the '90s... I think readers can make a pretty good guess at my age from that!

Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

REM sleep is hard to avoid, unfortunately.
