Eye update (2)
The blurred vision, at least, is about 80% cleared up compared with how it was when it started on Saturday, so it doesn't interfere as much with my internet activities. That problem was always expected to clear up on its own, though. The procedures the doctors are doing are intended to fix the torn place in the retina so it doesn't result in retinal detachment.
As icing on the cake, the usual trolls have been especially active this week, with even more personal viciousness and nastiness than usual. Evidently it's even more fun bashing somebody who's already going through a difficult time. That's just the kind of people they are.

Are the trolls and such on this blog? That's absolutely AWFUL!!! I'm so sorry. And OUCH!!! about your eye. Just reading about it makes my toes tingle. It reminds me of watching the doctor do it for my mom and seeing her hands clenched tight.
How big did you have to make the screen text to be able to read it?
I had the opposite problem. I somehow reduced my screen text down to 30%. It took a while to figure out what button I had accidentally pushed.
Kay: I've had a troll infestation for about two years -- see here and here.
It's an everything-clenching experience. When my mother was alive I had to take her in every few months for eye injections to stave off macular degeneration. At least they were able to give her a sedative, since I was doing the driving.
Mike: I'm not talking about increasing the text size, I'm talking about the blurred vision in that eye improving.
Wow you have had a time. I don’t think it usually goes this way. Hope it improves shortly and you need nothing else done.
You wonder if trolls are sicko Christians, Russian or Chinese trolls doing their purpose of messing with the American mind, which is easy to do for some of the idiots out there or just mean crazy pathetic individuals with absolutely no life and no happiness in life. Can you imagine living a life where that’s all you want to ever do..I’d say bottom of the gene pool.
I have mentioned getting to blogging on my own site - mainly apoltical (I think, or thought it was anyway but people can politicise anything can't they?). Stuff about philosophy and history of science and maths, mainly. But the troll aspect - especially about the personal stuff and I wanted to do personal stuff kinda... By which I mean recollections and why I chose one path over another. Which I think is interesting and hope other people will enjoy.
be careful of the trolls.. they took me down. Don't know if it will ever return.my friends are working on the new one for me..
I'm so glad you are seeing some results with your eyes. my friend Barbara has similar problems and been going on for over 10 years. Eventually it will get worse..Now she's just wearing glasses. Will give the Goddess something shiny for you my friend.
I'm sorry you have to go through that, but it's for a good reason.
Mary: I guess they'll tell me next week whether I need any more procedures. The doctor said if I do, he might do it in an operating room under real anesthesia, since the two I've had were so traumatic.
In the case of my own trolls, it's pretty clear that they're exactly who they appear to be.
NickM: I'd say that kind of blog is less likely to attract trolls, but you can never be totally sure what will or won't set some nutcase off.
Granny: I'm being careful in the sense of making frequent back-ups of the blog and exploring options in advance for how to get a new one if anything happens to this one. But I can't compromise on what I write or link to, or there'd be little point in doing it at all. If I stopped posting anything that somebody doesn't like, there'd be nothing here but cat pictures (and you could probably find somebody who'd be offended even by those).
Ricko: True. I just hope it's over with now.
I'm glad they are able to fix the eye problem but sorry it is painful to fix.
Sorry to hear about the trolls.
Mary K: Some people are just vile. These trolls are the kind of people who would be setting kittens on fire for fun or something, if they didn't have the internet.
