Trump rode out in a sealed SUV to wave at supporters, putting the driver and Secret Service agents in the car with him at risk of infection. He left the hospital prematurely and ostentatiously removed his mask before re-entering the White House, to endanger the maids, butlers, and other staff who cannot work from home. Pence, who has been exposed and should be in quarantine, continues to campaign and even resisted having a plexiglass screen at the VP debate. Lindsey Graham refused to have one at his Senate race debate -- so Democrat Jaime Harrison brought his own.
Other officials and spokespeople for this "administration" have skipped precautions when talking to the media (BuzzFeed has pulled its reporter from what has become a cesspit of disease). They've refused to cooperate with contact tracing of people at the announcement event for Coathanger Coney, which seems to have triggered this outbreak that has infected at least three dozen members of Trump's inner circle so far. Republicans are still trying to ram Coney's confirmation through before the election, even though some Republican senators are infected and their presence could endanger colleagues. The top leadership of the US military has had to go into quarantine due to possible exposure by these idiots, compromising national security.
And this dingbat moronically declared it mysterious that so many Republican leaders are getting the virus while so few Democratic ones are. I think we all know the answer. Republicans as a party reject science and the precautions it prescribes, while Democrats adhere to them. It's a textbook case of natural selection in action.
Trump and his gang have long contributed to the spread of covid-19 by downplaying it in public statements and convincing their legions of ignorant knuckle-draggers to scorn precautions. Now they've escalated to themselves, personally, becoming disease vectors.
Like the callous religionists whose insistence on holding in-person church events has been a major driver of the pandemic, Trump and his officials and toadies have become rats and fleas of this plague.
Take what comfort you can from the knowledge that they will pay for this. Many senior Republican leaders, like Trump himself, are old and fat -- highly vulnerable to death or permanent organ damage. But they will take many innocents down with them.
It’s absolutely mind boggling.
ReplyDeleteI don’t understand how news agencies keep sending reporters to that Petri dish of a White House. I understand some journalists have tested positive.
This administration impossibility stubborn attitude is a reflection of its incapacity to learn anything. Were you expecting less? Also, Cheeto is deranged .
XoXo
Sheesh! I wish you wouldn't run photographs like the one at the top of this post. It made me feel sorry for rats. This one has clearly scratched off his fur where he was being bitten by fleas.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, Mike Pence has flies. Admittedly, flies aren't the same as fleas, but at least they answers the ancient riddle, "What has white skin, a white top, and flies?"
Okay, I'll shut up and go home now.

Infidel... I'm not sure even death within the current cohort of infected ppl around the White House would change the president's, or his followers views. This is a group of irresponsible lying people, not giving a hoot about their followers.
ReplyDeleteEvery attitude you highlighted, included the "why are only republicans getting it" question are on full display daily on FOX, Breitbart and blogs all across the net.
Our only hope is not just to win the election, but to crush them. And then ignore their views that we are stifling their free speech.
Why are only republicans getting it... They are oblivious to their surroundings
ReplyDeleteSixpence: He seems nuttier than ever now. I don't know whether it's the virus or the meds.
ReplyDeleteCrank: My bad. I did an image search for "diseased rat" and that was the best picture that came up.
I guess that fly knew bullshit when he heard/smelled it.
Dave: They do seem to be immune to anything that would change a normal person's mind. The ones who have stuck with Trump through all the outrages and insanity are the most irredeemably hard-core ones.
Mike: They're pretty much oblivious to all of reality at this point.
>>Crank: My bad. I did an image search for "diseased rat" and that was the best picture that came up.<<
ReplyDeleteWell, Infidel, I will concede that you got what you googled for — one really diseased-looking rat. Maybe you could send him around to Trump's osteopath for a shot of "Regeneron" and a few pounds of steroids. Within a couple of days that rat will be pounding his chest and posing for glamour pix as he drags pizzas down the steps of New York City subways. Maybe public-spirited citizens will chip in and buy the rat some of the same orange makeup that Trump wears? And do you think Mike Pence's pet fly will be one of the contributors?
Just musing.

Yeah, this is pretty bad news. I didn't know that Pence was positive, though ... just haven't read or heard much about who is or isn't ... so that means that Pence had it in the debates (positive) with Harris. I think some of these folks must really believe it's like the flu, but even Trump himself in the recording with Woodward, he said it's like 5X times worse than flu, airborne, etc ... so I have no idea what they believe or anything, I am actually confused with it all. Harrison wanting his own protection? ... I don't blame him. I watched half the debate with Biden and Harris ... it was a little slow for me, to get too interested in, I guess ... but will watch the other half later. Trump in my view greatly contributed to the death of thousands ... and should have criminal/ civil charges brought against him, in my view ... but no one is talking about it, it seems ... like a person would who refuses to render aid, or like doctors who have went to prison for overprescribing, ill practice or whatever. Then he twisted it around to say he now saved millions of lives ... so it's really f*cked up what our society lets these people (not just Trump) get away with ... while poor to middle classes get punished for so much more. The bailouts and 2nd round of stimulus has been pathetic too ... and can only lead to more economic problems and make COVID spread even more .... and some folks, that are wealthy, welcome it ... they look at it as "thinning the herd" ... so some wants millions to die of the lower classes, but they won't say it.
ReplyDeleteConcerning voting ... all that I had to go through to apply for my mail- in ballot ... I and thousands of others here in the DFW Metroplex (can't speak for the rest of Texas) haven't even got our ballots yet, the media and voting joints have said they're overwhelmed with the amount of requests/ apps. If I don't get one soon, I'll just walk in early voting ... but they say if you do that ... you'll have to bring in your mail ballot anyway, to have them legally cancel it before you vote in person ... so a real bloody mess here in Texas on that ... which has been made difficult by the Republican Party of Texas. Just really frustrating having to go through all this shit to vote, these dayz ... even to vote for millionaires and billionaires makes it even lousier, and more shameful.
I am so proud of myself that with all that is going on I haven't gone on a asskicking raging drunk...'pats self on head'..
ReplyDeleteCrank: I wouldn't wish Trump's quack cures on a rat, or even a fly.
ReplyDeleteRanch: I don't think Pence has actually tested positive for the virus, but he was exposed, so he should be quarantining. And if you want to know what Trump believes, don't bother listening to what he says. He lies the way normal people breathe.
I'm not surprised the powers-that-be in Texas are making voting as hard as possible, but I hope Texans will, nevertheless, persist. If Democrats win power across-the-board they can stop those practices and make voting easy for everyone. Once the Republicans lose power, they lose it for ever.
Jackiesue: Considering what you've got going on personally as well as in politics, that's something to be proud of indeed.
I just wanted to send this link to you ... to show the kind of crap we're having to go through in Texas, below. I been in voting in Texas for years, we have never had to go through this before, especially some of this stuff for registered voting Texans, like myself, that been doing it for years. Thank goodness the courts knocked down Assott proposal. Get this ... he and his buddies (GOP) wanted to limit ballot drop boxes (at these last minutes), to one box per county ... now try to imagine a county like Harris, with a population of 4.7 million or so, over 2 million registered voters, trying to drop off ballots, the lines of cars would be incredible! ... or even Dallas County, with only 2.6 million, and other large surrounding counties.

Well I'm glad this wasn't a post about how bad rats are. lol
