I've covered this subject on my blog and linked to your post.
Many rightwing bloggers yell foul when they believe they are being unfairly characterized as racist, or at least allowing racist comments to go unchallenged on their sites.
Look at the comments I documented on my blog and the comment documented on Infidel's link and tell me why we should think otherwise.
And then at the other end of the spectrum are some of her fans who declare that Whitney is with god now. Excuse me! She died in a state of sin and left a daughter motherless. By the standards of their own religion, Whitney should be burning in hell right now. It doesn't matter how great a singer she once was. If she was a crack addicted mom from the projects, that's what they would have said about her. But because she had some hit songs, she's in heaven now.
As disgusting as the comments about Whitney and blacks in general are, this stuff needs to be called out whenever it happens. When both the "news" channel and the website race bait on a regular basis, this vile behavior by some of the sheeple is not at all surprising.
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

I was going to post that to my Facebook page but it was so revolting I just couldn't. It's just one more reason not to watch Fox News.
THAT IS JUST DISGUSTING.

As disgusting as it is, people need to see it, so I did put it up on FB. As Johnson says, there are no words.
I certainly share the disgust. To me, that makes it all the more important to call attention to this. It's part of the reality we face.
I've long argued that not all teabaggers are racist, but there's clearly a very large and disturbing racist element there.
