Video of the day -- if it looks unreal.....
Obviously it's rare that anyone would go to the trouble of setting up something this elaborate, but there's an important point here. Psychics, religious groups, and other promoters of pre-scientific world views have been known to use deliberate trickery to stage fake miracles, convince people they have knowledge they could not have acquired normally, or otherwise present the appearance of supernatural forces at work. Intentional deception is out there, and it's more common than you probably think. Some of the perpetrators have significant money and/or power at stake.
There are zero documented cases of supernatural forces at work in the real world, but there are countless documented cases of humans using deception. Remember, just because you personally can't think of a prosaic explanation for something strange that happens, that doesn't mean there isn't one.

I saw this video years ago and it was pretty good how they set it up and made it look good.
So much energy taken to deceive. I think about that a lot with all of the scams that make the rounds.
Leanna: They put a lot of work into it. I think I'm good at spotting tricks, but this would certainly have startled me if I'd been there.
Anvil: When people have enough at stake, they'll put a lot of effort into fooling others.
One of my neighbors used to be on the she Ghost Hunters. She swears that she saw ghosts. I don't believe it.
Cool video!
Mary: She probably did see them. That doesn't mean they were actually there.
Ricko: Thanks! I thought so.
I'm a fan of Derren Brown. I have seen him do things I can't explain at all.
Anon: As I said in the post, just because you personally can't think of a prosaic explanation.....

Please be on-topic and read the comments policy. Spam, trolls, and fight-pickers will be deleted. If you don't have a Blogspot account and aren't sure how to comment, please see here. Fair warning: anything supporting transgender ideology, or negative toward Brexit, or in favor of a military draft or compulsory national service, will be deleted. No comments advocating violence against any specific identifiable individual, even jokingly.
Please be considerate -- no political or politics-tinged comments on non-political posts, and no performative cynicism. Finally, please remember that this is a personal blog whose main purpose is to encourage contact from people with similar interests and world-views to mine. I really don't much care for arguing and debating; if arguing and debating is what you want, there are plenty of other places on the internet which welcome that.
