Video of the day -- the tofu-dreg empire
No matter what happens to the US, China is not going to supplant us. Their civil engineering is absolute crap even by Third World standards (watch this if you're not already familiar with the problem). The long-suffering Chinese people have coined the term "tofu-dreg" to refer to such garbage-quality construction. There's no reason to think that the quality of the Chinese military's equipment is any better, or that it suffers any less than the Russian military does from the corruption and incompetence endemic to dictatorial regimes.

Art: I assume that not every building, project, is crap. Some of is likely okay. Sort of an inverted 'Williamsburg' effect where people walk around colonial Williamsburg and assume everything built in those times was made with extreme care and only top-quality materials. Overlooking the selective action of time where lesser structures deteriorated and left only the best.
Point being that if a building is well made in China it doesn't make the news and there is nothing about it to warrant a video.
That said, you have a point. A one general is quoted: 'They are very pretty ... but can they fight'. China hasn't fought a war in a long time and in the mean time they have raised several generations of entitled prince-lings that are quite precious to their families. Chine is expected by some to be quite sensitive to losses.
Then there is the fact that dry-runs, simulations and practice in peace will never even come close to the chaos and confusion of an actual war.
All the book and movies fail to do it justice. You have to be there. China's military is an unknown.
The point is, way more of what they build is crap than in any normal country, even countries much poorer than China. It's a distinguishing and defining feature of China.
China's military is somewhat unknown, obviously, but we can tell a lot. For example, we know of cases of missiles whose fuel tanks were discovered to be full of water because some corrupt bureaucrat had stolen the fuel and sold it. From what we know, we can deduce a lot. It's a hopelessly corrupt, rotted-out, dying country.
It's the country that gave us Temu.
Which I've also never heard anything good about.
The folks behind the video are anti CCP Falun Gong, a new religion the regime does not like. Falun Gong has a touring anti CCP propaganda stage show in the USA, "Shen Yun." A building under construction is much more prone to collapse than the finished product. Collapse of buildings under construction is not unheard of, even here in the USA. All that said, it could be corrupt construction management, shyte materials, and poor methods. Just don't know if Falun Gong is the best source for news on China.
Nonsense. Peter Zeihan has nothing to do with Falun Gong. And there's abundant documentation Of China's abysmal civil-engineering standards and abject corruption. I've posted, and linked to, a lot of it over the years.
