Video of the day -- the internet vs real life
This one is really old, dating back to the early days of the internet -- but it remains strikingly accurate today, especially the part about debating politics online. Some NSFW spoken dialog.
Stand with the people of Iran against the murderous Islamic theocracy!

This is still so relevant especially the political interactions.
I don't know why I was laughing about the ads. They were so spot on.
Did you see this article? Social Media gets creepier and creepier. https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/03/business/meta-ai-accounts-instagram-facebook/index.html
Lady M: If anything, the politics issue has gotten worse. They've got everybody screaming at each other and treating each other as the epitome of evil. I don't believe it would be anything like as bad if most of the arguments were in person instead of online.
I did see an article about the Facebook "AI" bot accounts, though I'm not sure it was that same one. Social media will do anything to keep people on the app and isolated from other real people.
Leanna: The ads are pretty funny, mostly in how they keep interrupting everything, like pop-ups on the real internet.

Please be on-topic and read the comments policy. Spam, trolls, and fight-pickers will be deleted. If you don't have a Blogspot account and aren't sure how to comment, please see here. Fair warning -- I reject all comments containing any of the following:
1. Support for transgenderism
2. Negativity about Brexit
3. Support for a military draft or compulsory national service
I am not obligated to provide a platform for views I find morally abhorrent. And obviously I'm going to delete anything which is just quoting what an "AI" said. I want to hear from you, not from the always-wrong hallucination machine.
No comments advocating violence against any specific identifiable individual, even jokingly.
Please be considerate -- no political or politics-tinged comments on non-political posts, and no performative cynicism. Finally, please remember that this is a personal blog whose main purpose is to encourage contact from people with similar interests and world-views to mine. I really don't much care for arguing and debating; if arguing and debating is what you want, there are plenty of other places on the internet which welcome that.
