Stand with Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan -- with democracy and civilization against tyranny and barbarism

For Blasphemy Day
September 30 is Blasphemy Day International, the date having been chosen in 2009 to commemorate the original publication of the Danish Muhammad cartoons in 2005. Its purpose is to affirm that freedom of expression must explicitly include the right to criticize, ridicule, and attack religious beliefs and ideas -- that religion is not granted any special exemption or sanctity different from any other kind of ideas.
So, every year I pick a blasphemy to remind the world why thinking for yourself is better. This year? No one quite like a man who sends his son to die to teach about "family values".
"Blasphemy is not a right, it is a duty." To which I would add "Hell Yeah" and "God Damned Right." I sure hope no one is offended, but then this is Infidel753's place. I think I'm in like minded company...
I'm honored to to have 2 panels in a post about blasphemy. The lion one is one of my all time favorites and pretty much the poster child for my sense of humor.
Anon: They've never been much for family values as any normal family understands them.
Jimmy T: You're certainly in the right place! Every day is a "blasphemy day" here.
Lady M: Thanks. I've always felt that last one really lays the reality on the line. We should put it out there as a true definition of "God".
Ricko: Thanks! Feel free to steal, of course.
NickM: While some might be inexplicably offended at calling Muhammad after a perfectly respectable organ, it's far worse to point out that when he was in his fifties he married a six-year-old girl and had sex with her when she was nine -- and that's in the official sources.
Pliny: I love that lion image. Perfectly reasonable that she would think it was a pet-food store. As to the other, forcing women to dress so they look like inanimate objects is creepy.
CAS: I miss Hitchens a great deal. Luckily we do have many other eloquent people still with us, like Gervais and Hirsi Ali.
Mike: It does make the point. They think they're being persecuted when anyone stands up to their impositions.
Well, while it is a totally respactable organ (name me one that isn't) it is also a term of abuse which I suspect has more to do with the hard sound of it. One of the reasons I love being a native English speaker is the capacity for spectacular profanity our language provides and being originally from near Newcastle the almost Shakespearean ("country matters" - Hamlet*) use of swearing in the Geordie comic Viz hooked me.
If you wanna understand the Gen-X English lower-middle class (and that's a lot of folk - like me) then read Viz.
Anyway, here's an excellent use of "cunt" (not from Viz):

*John Donne also uses the term "country pleasures" and he ain't talking about a stroll in the woods. See "To His Mistress on going to bed" by Donne. |Everyone always thinks their generation invented sex and their elders are down on it. Well, there are nearly 8 billion of us and Louise Brown was born in 1978...
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Wow - powerful stuff. Especially that last one. But the logic is irrefutable.
Lots of good stuff! Bravo!
Muhammed was a cunt,
Muhammed was a cunt,
He ate pork pies and he had four wives,
Muhammed was a cunt.

Wonderful lineup. I especially love Hirsi Ali, Hitchins, and Gervais. Wish Hitchins were still around.
Very good collection today. The third one keeps hitting the nail on the head over and over.
