Don't laugh, it has more character than a whole suburb
Looks like a satisfying crop this year

Evanston IL home guard, 1942
X-ray of a hammer-headed shark

Made by Pliny -- you may need to think about this one a moment
Too many people still see themselves this way
It didn't have to be this way

Ohh so much!
But the kitty in the tire, that charming little house and the ladies pictured in Evanston (I love that suburb!) stand out for me.
XOXO
I like sooo many of these, and had to steal some, of course.
About men - they don't have a clue just how ugly they have made themselves Not a complaint as it's the reality. Here they sport huge unkept beards.
Those Evanston ladies in their furs - too funny!
Sixpence: The mini-house is cute. And that cat was obviously having fun with the tire.
Ricko: Please steal away.....
One Fly: It's terrible. If I remember correctly, I found that image on the blog of a (disappointed) woman. If it were really honest, the second lion would be obese as well as tattooed and scruffy.
Lady M: If the Nazis had ever invaded Illinois, they'd have sent them packing, I'm sure!
Of course yes and must not forget the sunglasses.
I like the secret drawer. BTW, do I get continuing education credit for making it to the end? 😁
One Fly: I wasn't aware that sunglasses were part of the package -- but half these guys can't figure out how to put on a baseball cap the right way round, so maybe they do need some eye protection.
Mike: A lot of gun owners use tricks like that, I think -- they worry about a confiscation regime searching their houses at some point in the future.
Your BA in Existential Blogposting is in the mail.....
I mean, early 40s, an invasion was a very real fear.
1970s, college kids mock their parents and grandparents for being afraid of a Nazi invasion.
(The ultra-pacifism of the New Left deserves nothing but disdain. And most of that was because they and their fellow legacy admissions hated the Montgomery GI Bill.)
I mean, if a confiscation regime ever happens, history has shown it'll exempt white gun owners. The original gun control laws were to put down slave uprisings. Wounded Knee began over gun confiscation; one of the men was deaf and didn't hear the order to turn in his rifle. And modern gun control began to disarm the Black Panthers.
I always say incels want a woman who will still be a virgin after they sleep together
I know this is OT kind of but your image round-ups are very random so I thought it might amuse.

And Hell's Teeth. If a right-wing Bible-bashing Republican former judge can't get elected to the senate from Alabama! Also a former judge. I mean how do you go get to be a judge without even a basic understanding of law? My understanding is, roughly, that you can't defame someone by making utterly implausible statements. If someone accused me of breeding dromedaries for the sexual pleasure of the Sultan of Brunei there wouldn't be a case not least because I'm too busy cloning mammoths for Siberian logging firms.
Anon: It would have been pretty logistically difficult for the Nazis to invade the US, never mind get as far in as Illinois, but I guess they were trying to be ready for anything.
Incels have a wide range of traits which help them remain incels.
NickM: Roy Mo[lest]ore has always been an odd case. His mind is so befuddled with religion that it seems to blank out his grasp of the law, or of reality. And he's hardly capable of judging what is or isn't "utterly implausible". The fact that he's 75 now probably doesn't help.
I think that would have been four and three fifths to one, as Breyer didn't retire until after the session.
The implication is that the scene is a bit in the future, since the new "originalist ruling" they're talking about is presumably a ruling that women can't vote and black people are back to being counted as 3/5.
He's also an alleged child molester, but not too long ago, Alabamians saw that as normal. Think Harper Lee just being very casual about "Oh yeah, the bad guy actually did rape his daughter even as he's framing a black kid for the same crime." because of how ubiquitous it was during her childhood.
The issue is if you use the original meaning at the time a law was passed, or the original intent.
The latter is absolutely disastrous. Besides the ontological implications of speaking to ghosts (such as ghosts, you know, existing), it gave us Dred Scott.
But at the same time, amendments are real, and right-wing judges have a habit of ignoring laws that already exist. This Roe reversal takes aim at the Ninth Amendment. Putting Indian tribes under state jurisdiction attacks the Commerce Clause.
He's also an alleged child molester
Hence the way I write his name.
I don't think the theocrats care much about what the Constitution really means. Their goal has always been to impose their taboos on society. The Supreme Court is just one more implement to be used for that purpose.
Such a great assortment! And yes, staying away from a$$holes does indeed increase one's happiness! HAHA
I'm getting better at warding them off.....
