Video of the day -- this is what religious rule looks like
This video is from July, before the Taliban had overrun the whole of Afghanistan, but even then they had control in large areas and were showing their true colors. They are now effectively the state -- their "courts" are real courts and their practices are law.

Not surprised, at all.
BTW, this is what the Talibangelicals would love to see here in America. Also, see Texas.
XOXO
All I can say is WOW. And the worry that this is where the US is headed in time….So called Christian Sharia Law. I fear for the future and I’m glad I am old.
The American Taliban and Apartheid Society is making way too much progress.
P.S. I enjoyed the short film over on Rick's blog. Lovecraft wrote some very weird and wonderful stuff.
Good morning. I wanted to thank you for the comment you left over at SickoRicko's blog yesterday. He's a good man and needed to hear your thoughts and see your perspective on current matters. We ALL needed to read your comment. Many in our community deal with depression and it's important to have a network of supporters to help us get through the tough times so we can experience the good times. Here's to the good times ahead from a follower across the river in Vancouver.
The world is regressing, so I'm with Mary: I'm glad I'm old.
I don't think anyone will be surprised when the Tallywackers turn to their old ways.
Sixpence, Mary: That's an arguable point, but this is about Afghanistan.
Whkattk: Glad you liked the video. He has a lot of interesting stuff.
Milleson: Thank you for the kind words. For anyone who's interested, the comment he's referring to is at the end of this post.
Ricko: Afghanistan is regressing, probably temporarily. As to the world, see above.
Mike: True, although they're already running into a fair amount of resistance. The US leaving doesn't mean the fight is over.
First I've heard of WION. I appreciate the diversity of information sources that you present here. In all the time we've been in Afghanistan, I think this is the first time I've seen a report from an Indian source.
I like WION, partly for their anchorwoman's sometimes rather punchy delivery. And we need to be cognizant of Indian viewpoints. They're the world's largest democracy and a rising power.
