Loves it! It did give me a little bit of a nighttime Midsomer vibe, though. That movie traumatized me. Also, this made me wanna meet some witches. Totally the opposite St. Walpurga would have wanted.
I didn't understand a word they said, but some good festive music and choice of instruments. It just gives you a good feeling. And not a buch of bloodletting, or even negative imagery. A bumper sticker I see on cars driving around town (Dallas), that I like, is, something like "give me that old time religion", and it has some Pagan Wiccan symbols or something on it, if I can, I usually give them thumbs up with a honk {:-) Probably alot of folks don't even know what "Walpurgisnacht" is, some may even have a hard time pronouncing it at first. Oddly, I have had a Po Box, for at least a quarter century or more, and it is always due for the 6 month payment, on Walpurgisnacht and Halloween ... an NO, I did not plan this, it just came out that way {:-)
Sixpence: Yes, unfortunately some film-makers like to use pagan imagery for horror purposes (though the imagery of the Christian blood cult would actually be better suited for that purpose). Everybody wants to be the next Wicker Man. To me, though, the video is just a delightfully innocuous celebration of authentic European culture.
Debra: Cheers!
Ranch: Glad to hear people feel OK driving around Dallas with pagan bumper stickers. I think I read somewhere that there's actually a group in Germany that does rituals like this on Walpurgisnacht, but it's an all-women thing -- no men allowed.
Mike: If I were to light a bonfire, I would definitely need to ward off an evil spirit, specifically my apartment-building manager. I don't know whether a jack-o'-lantern would work.
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Let's all light a bonfire tonight. There are still a lot of evil spirits that we need to ward off.
