Blogging reprieve?
Curiously enough, right now WordPress is evidently implementing a shift to a new "block editor" which its users also hate. Why the pervasive need to fix things that aren't broken?

I've had to try (or at least see some of) the new interface because it automatically switched to it but, I changed it back. And I'm good with the old one, as well! 👌🏻
I mean, what's that saying... Why change it if it's not broken? 😏
Let's hope so! I can't see what's wrong with the current editor and the replacement looks almost unusable if you want to use html with CSS. I don't understand this need to 'reimagine' software all the time. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
I prefer the old interface too; however, I have been using the new one for a few weeks to get used to it. There are some differences I don't care for, but there are also a few features I have come to like. It would be nice if they'd give users a choice, but I doubt that will happen.
I kept the old interface.
The new one is not intuitive and it does not let me embed some video or posts. So the old one it is until they iron out the kinks in their shiny new object. They should have given us new themes, though...
XOXO
Past 6:00 AM now and the old interface is still available. Fingers crossed.....
New Blogger has a few features that I really like, but on the whole, Old Blogger is better, easier and quicker to use when make posts. I switch back and forth constantly between the two. I hope they never take Old Blogger away completely.
I switched back to the old blogger a few days ago. Hopefully, if they see enough people switching back they will..... BWAHAHAHAHA, who am I kidding?
So far, so good. I'm old enough to remember "New Coke" and how that went down -- or actually didn't.
Hey, it's 2020. They are having trouble adjusting, I mean with the murder hornets, California wildfires burning down the Redwoods, the RNC convention of lies going on, the 2018VP1 asteroid fly byor hit, the coming zombie outbreak from the vaccine trials next(I can't wait) month, and all, what do you expect. You have to give them time. It's a tough year for Blogger.
Well I think I tried new blogger for about 30 minutes before switching back. I could not figure out how to edit a post in that format. So hopefully everyone had the same issues and if they do decide to change the interface, they will make it intuitive for the user. Yes and monkeys will exit my butt any time now.
Well, Thursday morning and the old interface is still working..... Lady M, let us know if the monkeys do put in an appearance.:-)
As long as I have used computers, I have seen people complain bitterly whenever their software is updated. Usually this is just because they are not familiar with the new version, and resent having to put forth a little effort to learn its features. I tried the new Blogger interface, switched back for a while, and then went to the new interface again. Frankly, after a couple of days I found the new one to be just as usable as the old one. Just one opinion, but it is working fine for me.
I suppose it's possible they've improved it since I tried it. I gave it a week and a half before giving up in frustration. It was not just different, but much harder to use and much more difficult to make it do the same things the old interface does easily. I'm not inclined top try it again unless they take away the old interface -- which, so far, they haven't.
