So the news is out that Papa Frankie met with Kim Davis and thanked her for her courage in defying the U.S. Constitution.

Where does that leave the wingnuts who denigrated Papa Frankie when he talked about climate change and immigration while he visited the U.S.? And where does that leave the pro-Papa Frankie liberals who thought he was the greatest thing to happen to the Catholic Church since Mother Teresa's con job?

That nice old guy who rides around in a little Italian car believes theocracy trumps democracy, and encouraged those who agree to disobey the rule of law. So any crackpot who has a sincere belief in his or her religion can refuse to obey his or her country's laws.

I wonder. Does Papa Frankie believe this should equally apply to say Islamic countries or any country or culture where gay people are killed for being gay? Where are the cheering liberals who thought this guy was "holy" now that he supports religious conscience over the rule of law?

I've been trying to tell those $#!%#&@#$ for weeks that this guy was no liberal. Maybe now they'll start to get it. An organization which has promoted bigotry and theocratic supremacy for centuries isn't going to turn on a dime, nor choose a leader who'll try to make it do so.

No worries -- Roseburg is 260 miles from where I live and I don't know anyone there. I used to visit a nearby area, though -- it's pretty rural, conservative, and gun-heavy down there.

It was liberating to read such open discussions. I as a born Muslim and belong to one such intolerant culture would emphasis the importance of the need of the Islamic countries to be brought in to 21st century and in the developed world separating the state and religion at the same time, but this would not suit the businesses. The biggest business in the world ..arms and second biggest business... Religious bigotry!!
We will get there one day, may be not in our life time but we must always stand up and say the right thing.

#Respect and tolerance
