About Me
- Name: Infidel753
- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

I reckon "socialism" is the word these dayz for true "free market", eh? ... dont suprise me considering what was once conservative now represent's "fundamoralism" and "corporate communism" : )
I wouldn't say so -- "free market" is basically a dogma that "natural forces" should be left free to play themselves out without human intervention, and whatever result this produces is by definition the right one. It turns out that this works about as well in economics as it does in epidemiology. "Socialism" is like deploying vaccines, antibiotics, sanitation, etc. to get a more desirable result (well, desirable to everyone but the germs).
