About Me
- Name: Infidel753
- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Yes. True. And I'll never understand why people still cling to it.
Some things never change. Sadly, I expect this statement to be true for centuries to come.
Very true. When was the last time that an admitted Atheist ran for president from a major party?
SK: Fear of death and cultural inertia.
Ahab: Well, progress does happen -- compare the US today with the 1950s.
JC: Well, Australia has an avowed atheist Prime Minister now. The US will take a while.
Excellent quote because of its age. Some of the Gods we speak of today were not even born when he made this statement.
It makes you wonder, when our Gods are dead and gone, will some people read of our mythologies with a superior air about them, as they pray to whatever deity, or deities, replaces our gods as the final answer.
