About Me
- Name: Infidel753
- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

That. Was. Freaking. Awesome. We all need to hold right-wingers accountable for their words.
Actually, I ddnt even know about these quote's from republican's, I did hear about the "aspirin" deal a week or two ago ... I actually couldnt even figure out what they were talking about at first, no shit, then it hit me after some time ... I was trying to figure out what a bloody aspirin on a gal's knee had to do with birth control at first? .... duuuuhh : ) But yeah, this has really gotten to be a big issue, here in Texas their trying all kind's of shit against women now and contraceptive's, and women have been bitching up a storm here. I hear that in Texas they passed some ind of law or something to where they want to make you look at picture's of fetuses or something while you get an abortion now even, dont know all the detail's yet.
Fact: Dallas County Hospital has the highest birth delivery in the nation, it cater's to mainly low income folk's. Now ... my question is ... if they were to cut contraceptive funding (not sure of all the detail's of it to begin with) ... what would that do to the hospital's budget?
Later Infodell ....
Ahab: Their own madness is our best weapon against them -- it's just a matter of getting people to pay attention.
RC: For an example of that Texas law at work, see here. It's the same kind of cruelty based on religious taboos as you wrote about in your recent post about denying death with dignity.
Somehow their own words are creepier and more frightening when we hear them recited by the very people who are affected by their anti-women laws.
Thanx for the link Infodell, I seem to have seen this in one of your link's or something, but when I seen the post saying Texas Taliban, I didnt pay much atention to it, because I just figured it was another religion posting or something ... the link to the Texas Observer was a story indeed, the first read I had of it ... not even surgeon's put their surgery patient's through such a psychiological experience. After reading the ladies story ... I only thought "court" for sure! I see it as injury to the patient psychologically as "trauma" and having after effect's on the patient ... it is a form of psychological as well as physical abuse without question, I have to think that there must be legal action's being taken, with some precedent as far as the injury/ abuse ... I dont see how you couldnt ... this is clearly evident "abuse" as well as damaging to the establishment of the medical business and character. If we didnt have a Governor either like Rick Perry this shit wouldnt have been signed so quick, you can bet former Gov. Ann Richards would have tossed such shit in the trash can, if it reached her desk, Perry is also on a religious crusade ... I know one goddamn thing ... someone is going to take this to court, everybody cant be that damn passive to this muscle being pulled here.
At least one doctor is now urging civil disobedience to forced-ultrasound and similar creepy laws which force doctors to commit such violations.
This is wonderful! Thanks for posting.
Another potentially poignant video would be of several women speaking in full support of the Republican party... all wearing burkas.
