About Me

Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

Watched some of the republican debate last night and finally realized something I already knew, that I was listening to a bunch of freaking self absorbed idiots who are about as soulless as the rocks in my front yard. It was so bad I could feel IQ points being sucked away.
Got on Hulu and watched the first episode of Sagan's Cosmos instead.
Ok, I admit. This made me cry. I was a tween when Cosmos aired. I loved that show. I wish I could say I was inspired to become a great scientist, that didn't happen. But I am alive today because of Cosmos.
BB: From the ridiculous to the sublime, obviously a better use of your time.
Bacopa: I watched it when I was young too, and it helped spur my interest in science.
"alive today because of Cosmos"? Sounds like there's a story there?
