Buenos Dias Senor Infidel!
Alot of nice read's here that I couldnt finish up on right now, but thought also some nice read's here on global warming and the politic's of it, and no one should be at all suprised about the stunt's BP is pulling these day's, especially trying to find rent- a- scientist's and such ... heh, heh, heh, heh, heh. I wasnt suprised much either on the posting from Mr. Ray Beckerman ... man oh man .... what a racket that industry is! :) Hey Guy .... I take it this Texas GOP platform is for real(?) ... I mean, I ignored this so far .... thinking too, that alot of it was hype talk and funnies, and havent really looked into it, but surely these folk's (Texas GOP) must be halfway joking(?) .... and they expect to win election's with a platform like that? No ... I havent even heard nothing in the news here in Dallas on this, so it's a lil suprising ... I reckon I'll glance into it though, but think it's about as pointless of an effort as trying to pull Texas out of the USA to become once again independent. How in all Hell, would Tea Bag's/ Hag's want government to secure manufacturing job's, when that would make them slave's to socialism? .... heh, heh, heh, heh, heh. I just wanted to add a few thing's here before I run and forget WTF was on my mind to say, because too many year's and too many drug's f'd with my head! :)
Nice link up Guy ... later
Good list, my friend. Average world temperatures have been the highest on record for the last four months in a row.
Something "odd" I found that I would like to add here. On this Texas GOP Platform to attack homosexuality ... it even goes much further than that, it want's to also attack just about everything sexual from what I been reading ... I mean all the adult store's, arcade's, product's, act's of sodomy or I reckon sex act's that arent done for reproduction purposes, while God watches .... across the board, even for straight's... you just about name it, they are out to get it, according to what I been reading elsewhere's, even though your big town's like Dallas and Houston are saturated with all this, and of course it would be quite a task I would think to actually enforce something like this. But what is so odd is that almost daily I drive all over the Dallas- Fort Worth Metroplex, listening to local conservative talk radio show's (I loathe radio pop culture music), endlessly whining about everything of the Administration from the government takeover of business, bank's, health care etc ... too force fed socialism etc, etc. Not once have I heard any talk about homosexuality, sodomy act's or this platform for that matter .... yet ... it is all over the internet. It seem's so odd that I havent heard any of this on the local show's, or on local tele newscast's even(?) Oh well ... perhap's it's part of some certain strategy they cooked up.
RC: It's an indication of the direction the party is headed in these days. Remember, the Montana party has adopted a similar platform, and there are similar noises coming from Republicans all over the country. The Republican party is becoming, toward gays, what the KKK used to be, toward blacks -- an engine of pure hatred. The talk about banning non-Bible-approved sexuality of all kinds simply shows the total dominance of religious fundamentalism.
Remember, none of this stuff would be Constitutional if they actually tried to enact it -- not unless the Griswold, Roe, and Lawrence decisions were all overturned, which is hardly likely. But it tells us what kind of America they want to see -- one that looks rather like Iran under the mullahs.
I never really cared about the Roe/ Wade becoming an issue, even back when I voted straight republican, because choice is "legal" by law, and a few small group's whining about it never worried me, my approach/ response to them alway's was ... like my gun response (which I am very pro- gun as well as choice) ... "If you dont want one, well .... dont get one ... I dont give a rat's ass one way or another what anyone chooses". Of course being a father of 3 daughter's, I was grateful that if they needed to utilize the choice service's .... they could have it "safely" done without having to go into some place underequipped, unsanitary, and medically deficient personel conducting such, to get the service's they may need. It appear's that the GOP is really very divided too. If such incredible law's were put in place, which I'm sure if enforced on someone like myself ... I would probably be sentenced to 10,000 year's in prison due to my activities ... it would be one Hell of a task to enforce. Oddly though, a multitude of the right would also be convicted, since there is so much activity as far as sex going on with them, we would have to lock up all the priest's even, and half the politician's! To me, even though they may not wear head gear .... they are equivalent actually to today's Taliban .... but yeah ... the Klan was also self proclaimed purist's as well, who's shit dont stink. From what I read about here in Texas, they also want to close down all the exotic dance businesses, something so many of them frequent on the right, including their wives who frequent the male strip joint's! But no matter what these folk's may push for, they will face some heavy opposition, they can bank on that!
RC: I never really cared about the Roe/ Wade becoming an issue, even back when I voted straight republican, because choice is "legal" by law
Well, that's the point -- the Republicans' goal is to change the law so that abortion is illegal again, and if Roe v. Wade were overturned, they could do that.
it would be one Hell of a task to enforce.
On its face it's ridiculous -- if they strictly enforced a law against oral sex, for example, almost everybody in the country who's old enough to vote would be in prison. Of course, if these guys were in power, it would be enforced selectively, against specific groups they dislike.
Part of the standard apparatus of totalitarianism is that laws are written in such a way that it's impossible to avoid disobeying them -- that way, the authorities have a way of "getting" anyone they choose, at any time.
Infidel!
