Aim at the head!

I read the Hitler vs Hamas article - more scary stuff, but at least it lets everyone know where Hamas stands. My approach to the "militant Islam" problem is assassination. As soon as a nutty militant leader appears anywhere in the world he should be killed. The government involved would make no mention of it or deny any involvement; people would just start mysteriously dying. Any militant who finally gained power would die immedi-ately.....I think we have to play hardball with these folks.
It is rather odd that we embrace the taboo on assassination so uncritically. Given the inexorable fact that dangerous maniacs exist and sometimes rise to positions of great power, what is the most effective and moral way of dealing with them? Take for example our biggest and most menacing immediate problem -- Iran. Why would it be worse to kill off Khamenei, Ahmadinejad, and the few hundred similar bloodthirsty fanatics who hold power at the top of the Iranian state, than to deal with the threat by a conventional war in which tens of thousands of ordinary Iranian soldiers and civilians would be killed and the leaders who are the real problem would mostly remain untouched?
(I know there are people whose moral convictions would prohibit either form of killing even in this kind of situation. The only reason such people are not living out their lives in slavery is that they are being protected by others who do not share their unrealism.)
Of course, the case in Iran is easy to make since by all accounts the Islamist regime there is hated by most of the Iranian people. In other cases, such as Nazi Germany or the present-day Gaza Strip, we find genocide-minded regimes apparently supported by most of their subjects. In such instances, conventional military action is probably unavoidable.
But wherever possible, if we must kill to protect ourselves, isn't it best to kill the guilty and spare the innocent?

Well...Mr.Infidel...this is a very interesting article and opinion's and I agree as well with Ms.Mary. I dont like to go around just knocking off people that I think are against us...you can call it as well.."moral obligation's" if you choose. But the bottom line here as you mentioned time and time again...about the problem we are facing...and the fact that those who we are dealing with are thug's...and we will need to focus more action on this plain and simple.And sadly this also includes our current immigration policies. These guy's for instance from Morocco that I know were explaining to me one night how they basically buy "lotto" chances from their gvmt (yes they pay to a pool to get drawn)to win a chance to get picked to deport to America...and even if their number comes up...theres no guarantee they will get it...they shell out more money...it's a damn business! I was also talking about similar about these dictator's several year's back...especially in the case of this Iraq conflict/occupation...because of the enormous cost and enormous pool of these "individual's" that we will have to deal with to come. In the form of more covert operation's to take these folk's out,without occupation of these land's. These SOB's know how to hurt us...by hurting our pocketbook's especially...and Syria is another backstabbing culprit...our current strategies do not work effectively in my opinion.And detaining like 15,000+ like we have in places like Iraq...or these outfit's like Guantanamo...isnt going to cut the mustard as well...detaining these innocent and flunkies worx in the leader's favour...by making those detainee's angry at us and making them think terror revenge...we need to go after the top dog's and terminate their existence immediately...these are the "instigator's" that play the ball's...these other's are just impoverished pawn's that are used to strengthen and increase opposition number's...we are ignoring the core. Thank You Sir!
