An atheist's manifesto

The Apostate's newly-updated personal story, "Why I Left Islam", is a must-read. I particularly liked her comment on "the modern Muslims who speak of reinterpreting scripture in the light of our modern values" -- "why not just adopt the modern values and drop the unnecessary muddling factor of revelation?" Much of what she has to say is equally applicable to any other religion. Also read her new posting on "Islam and Feminism".
