Politics

Will the Democratic takeover of Congress (a success attributable more to public anger at Republican scandals than to any other factor) lead to a genuine effort to clean house, or just more politics as usual? Pelosi's support for Hastings and Murtha over more broadly-accepted rivals does not bode well.

On the other hand, this does -- if the Democrats go through with it.

And there's a hint of good news for political moderates.
