Link round-up for 6 November 2016

It would be only right if cheating death were this easy.

Heck of a dog you got there.

Maybe the FBI should have its own magazine.

This has been an unusual election.

GloFish are the first genetically-engineered animal to become commercially available.

I'm betting there's plenty more like this guy (found via Progressive Eruptions). And there may be more Congressmen like this one.

Rigging the election would be almost impossible.

Here's an example of why people don't like libertarians.

Halloween candy racism is now a thing.

This time, the Christian ugliness went too far.

See a litter of cuteness in the making.

There's a lake -- and a waterfall -- on the bottom of the sea.

Republicans' all-out attack on democracy finally gets some notice in the MSM (found via Green Eagle).  But their war on the black vote is hitting new heights of outrageousness.

How many innocent people were convicted because of this asshole?

Vote for Democrats and go to Hell.

The uninsured rate is at an all-time low -- and it's making Republicans turn vicious.

On LGBT young people, the Trump/Pence ticket has made its stance clear.

Oh, for fuck's sake.

Humans in Australia have only themselves to blame for the magpie menace.

Canada is looking for a few good people, or actually a lot.

If the USSR was so bad, why didn't people just leave?

Iraqi forces have already liberated part of Mosul from Dâ'ish (ISIL).  And our allies in Syria are moving on the enemy's "capital".

The world's biggest marine protected zone has just been established.

Could a corpse bring life to another world?

Much of the country will be voting on minimum wage increases and marijuana legalization -- and victory looks likely.

The chief of Hillary's PAC is optimistic about her chances.  There are good signs in the early voting figures.

Here are the two campaigns' closing messages.  Trump's has some disturbing undertones.

The alt-right is threatening a show of force at polling places.

I'm glad I already voted to re-elect our Governor.

Some women are exercising a right that didn't exist when they were born.

Here's an insightful psychological view of Trump and his followers.

Because this election dominates the news, I didn't hear the news about Mosul. That is hopeful news. I'll be glad when Wednesday comes so I can hear The Stupid Party talk about impeaching president-elect Hillary. /snark/

Wait. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/ron-johnson-hillary-clinton-impeachmentThey're already talking about it.

Thanks for the links.

And congrats to your governor. Another smart, talented woman for the liberals!

Ugh, that libertarian with her useless advice - she reminds me of this similarly clueless idiot over here who recently suggested the unemployed should just start their own businesses because "nobody owes you a job"*. As a lot of people were quick to point out, not only does starting your own business generally require MONEY (something many of the unemployed are understandably short of), but most new businesses fail, and in any event, the economy isn't going to be able to handle the shock of (literally) a million or more new businesses starting up virtually overnight.

*It truly disturbs me how so many people have gone from saying that no-one is entitled to a living without working for it to saying that no-one is even entitled to the means of making a living. One wonders just what they think people with no money and no way of earning it are supposed to do. Just meekly crawl off and starve somewhere (preferably somewhere out of sight so these arseholes' delicate, privileged sensibilities won't be troubled)? Probably. (And they say Communists don't understand human nature!)

One of my favorite movies is Hopscotch. Ned Beatty in it calls them the Fucking Bureau of Imbeciles. Prophetic.

Vote for Democrats and go to Hell.

"Be seeing you." From my favorite TV show ever. Again, prophetic.

Zosimus, those are the same people who think that poor children don't deserve to be fed or have medical care or decent schools.

nonnie9999, too true (and yet a large percentage of them no doubt fawn over those same children, and care soooo much about them, when they're still in the womb!).
