About Me
- Name: Infidel753
- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
Individualist, pro-technology, pro-democracy, anti-religion. I speak only for myself and not for any ideology, movement, or party. It has been my great good fortune to live my whole life free of "spirituality" of any kind. I believe that evidence and reason are the keys to understanding reality; that technology rather than ideology or politics has been the great liberator of humanity; and that in the long run, human intelligence is the most powerful force in the universe.

These are fabulous! Yes, don't argue with people on social media. You get nowhere and it feels like a drill to the brain.
These are great!
Very enjoyable collection.
I've studied at a Division I school where the football coach was the highest-paid person on campus, and at a Division III school where the football coach had to teach a variety of phys ed classes. The Division I university was a nightmare to study at, full of catch-22s regarding registration for different courses and oversized intro classes taught by untrained TAs working on their masters. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Looking just at textbooks: The football factory's textbook choices for a third-year foreign language class were the same as the small college's second-year textbooks.

I saw the troll meme. I haven't seen anything about trolls for months. Are they back? If so, what are they going on about?
Martha: Thanks! I'm lucky enough not to be on social media at all, but the blogosphere has a few paste-eaters (trolls) too.
Ricko: A few I found on your site, I'm pretty sure.
Lady M: Glad you think so.
Elizabeth: I went to a solid university, but even there, the bending of the rules for "student" athletes who couldn't really do the academic work had a corrupting effect on standards. It convinced me that universities just shouldn't have competitive athletics programs.
The troll stopped pestering me for a few months and then came back a week or so ago. Different OCD bullshit, but it's definitely the same guy -- same snotty, hectoring tone and pathetic ignorance. I more and more think I know who it is, too. But the solution is the same regardless -- delete and ignore.
So true and so sad.
I read all these. I want a continuing education credit!
Mary K: Some are sad, some are about fighting back.
Mike: Infidel University will be opening shortly. We will not have a sports program.
I love the spam button. these people want a reaction & will move on to other victims if they don't get one. wondering where they get material for shoes? & those steps make my head spin just to look at. as for the queen, am glad someone isn't acting as if she's Jesus. am so tired of people falling for monarchy marketing - tho am impressed by what genius marketing they provide for UK
Daal: I'm guessing this was mostly meant for the link round-up?
Looks like they can make shoes out of pretty much anything (I'd pay extra for troll-hide leather). The British monarchy doesn't mean a lot to me one way or the other, but I don't begrudge those who do feel attached to it. I suspect its popularity will decline now that Elizabeth is gone.
