Video of the day -- stupid aliens
The real problem here, of course, is stupid movie-writing. If we ever actually suffer an alien invasion (unlikely, thank goodness), the invaders will be far from stupid, and our science fiction movies will have done a poor job of preparing us for the reality of dealing with them. Your latest post is a mind-boggler, made me stop and think...twice. I'm afraid that if we ever actually suffer an alien invasion we'd better hope they have honorable intentions. Because if they have other than honorable intentions, many of us are "ripe-for-the-picking".
Going to check out the video when I catch a break from caregiving. Sounds like it will be interesting.

I love horror movies and the alien movies are a favorite of mine. I'm not much into the Star Wars movies but I did enjoy the last two. As much as I want to believe that we won't ever be visited I think it's silly to think that we are the only life forms capable of space travel in the universe. While we can really only get to the moon, we have sent robots to other planets. I would like to believe that there are other life forms out there doing the same thing but just haven't the technology to reach us yet. I think one day the aliens are gonna show up, don't know if it will be in my lifetime though. I just hope they have nice intentions.
Dellgirl: Thanks for visiting! Hope you like the video. I don't know how honorable aliens would be, but we can at least hope that we have nothing they'd consider worth invading for.
Jerry: They're in no position to call anyone else stupid.
Mary: I've been a fan of the Alien movies since the first one came out, but I think the series has completely gone off the rails with this "Engineers" thing, not to mention AVP -- they completely trash the intent and meaning of the originals.
I have my own ideas about why we haven't been visited yet, but there are too many unknowns to do more than speculate.
