A link from
here (see comments 3 and 4) drew my attention once again to the issue of racism as it relates to the movement to stop illegal immigration. The pro-amnesty side is constantly accusing us of being racists; the worst thing that could possibly happen to the anti-illegal-immigration movement is that it associate itself with people who
actually are racists. I've already expressed what I think about the issue
here, but it bears repeating.
This is not Europe.
We must offer no compromise or opening whatsoever to racism or anti-Semitism. Those things mean the death of our nation.

Unfortunately, one cannot demand that racists drop their anti-illegal immigration stance, so some who are against illegal immigration will, of course, be racists. Agreeing about illegal immigration does not mean condoning racism.
But failure to repudiate and reject the support of racists is condoning racism. And it is utterly deadly to the anti-illegal-immigration cause.
Would you link arms with a child molester if he agreed with your choice for the school board?
There is such a thing as evil so absolute that it must be totally repudiated no matter what peripheral areas of agreement happen to exist. Racism and anti-Semitism fall into that category.
