A giant highway cutting through the US from Mexico to Canada? A plot to subsume American sovereignty within an EU-like North American Union? Read the shocking truth here.
The world is full of fascinating things that have nothing to do with politics

Just last Friday my (liberal) step-father-in-law asked me breathlessly if I had heard of this planned superhighway.
I confessed I hadn't. He went on to tell me the lurid tale of Chinese contractors flooding Mexicans into Kansas etc. etc.
It sounded plausible.
Fortunately Monday morning I came across this Nation article. While I felt a little foolish believing the story, what does it say about the state of our country today that something so outlandish is actually possible?
I don't trust that a superhighway won't, at some time, exist. But I don't believe 100% that it will, either. Who to trust? The whole thing could be quiet because it's either not going to be, or just because a lot of people say, "whatever," not knowing who or what to believe. So, whatever.
